And with the agonies he endured
Our contribution
to the Bodleian Library's celebration of the 200th birthday of Herman Melville,
who of course was the author of Moby-Dick. The Library invited presses
around the world to set one of eighty 'Extracts. Supplied by a sub-sub
librarian.' We chose the longest extract as it had a narrative and thus pointed
to potential illustration and the use of our Hunt Roman type. Linocut artist
John Watson
did a splendid interpretation.
Hand-set 14pt, 18pt, and 24pt Hunt Roman. Two-colour linocuts by John Watson.
Printed on 330gsm Somerset paper. 48x40 cm. £30.
