From our catalogue of posters.

And with the agonies he endured

Our contribution to the Bodleian Library's celebration of the 200th birthday of Herman Melville, who of course was the author of Moby-Dick. The Library invited presses around the world to set one of eighty 'Extracts. Supplied by a sub-sub librarian.' We chose the longest extract as it had a narrative and thus pointed to potential illustration and the use of our Hunt Roman type. Linocut artist John Watson did a splendid interpretation.

Hand-set 14pt, 18pt, and 24pt Hunt Roman. Two-colour linocuts by John Watson. Printed on 330gsm Somerset paper. 48x40 cm. 30.
