Stage 1: at Alan Flint's workshop

Fine art printer Alan Flint has taken on the specialist task of printing Naoko Matsubara's twelve woodcuts that make up Twelve poems from the Manyoshu.

So we start this photo diary with some shots from his workshop, and in the first here he's looking pretty pleased with early proofs of three of the woodcuts. Note the Vandercook proof press in the background.
