Much has already happened

The picture stories of several of our other books (including that for Harry Carter, Typographer) cover preparation for the moment of printing. In this sequence I have concentrated on the printing of the ornaments from OUP.

But this is always a pleasant moment: starting with a stack of fresh paper on the board of the Western proof press, in this case some mould-made Rives BFK that I rescued from the defunct print-shop of Parkminster monastery in Sussex.
