The making of Henry James Sat Here

Printing means type

Unlike the two books we printed in 2005 (The Bricks of Venice and Harry Carter, Typographer), Henry James Sat Here requires very little type, little more than an afternoon's hand-setting in reality. And here it is, sitting tied-up on my stone, ready to go on the press: nine poems set in 14pt Octavian.

As ever, starting the printing has been somewhat delayed and it is now mid-March 2006. But given that the edition is small and the book relatively thin, I expect to be able to do all the letterpress work in around a week.
