The de luxe edition consists of a copy of the book quarter-bound in dark brown leather with a paper marbled by Jemma Lewis on the boards, together with a separate volume, Learning about printing, printed letterpress on an antique laid paper. The two volumes are presented in a slipcase covered in brown cloth.

The next image shows an opening of the 32pp additional volume.

Standard copies are £105 each, and de luxe copies are £300 each. Full details and further photographs can be found at our website.

'And with the agonies he endured'

our contribution to the Bodleian's celebration of Herman Melville's 200th birthday

a few copies available for sale

This is our contribution to this project from the Bodleian Library. Of all the quotations offered we chose the longest, giving us a chance to set some type. The quotation also had a strong narrative as well, so it was ideal for an illustration, here a linocut by John Watson. For fuller details see this page on our website.
